In this case, emphasising the strategic, future focused, aspect of Leadership, and in this context it’s useful as the starting point of a discussion about the differences, and similarities, between Managers and Leaders (a discussion that could last forever).
If you are aspiring to be known as a Leader, rather than a Manager, this quote is worth committing to memory!
