The Edexcel Level 4 HNC Business qualification is a UK accredited course which is internationally recognised.

This qualification will give you a solid foundation course in Business and is aimed at students who would like a good knowledge of all business aspects.

Completion of this course would improve job prospects in Business sectors. This qualification is also accepted as an access course into a degree in the UK, Europe or at an international University. Progression pathways onto a degree can be found on the Edexcel website www.edexcel.com/dcf.

As the HNC Business is part of the Qualifications and Framework (RQF), it has transferable credits of a minimum of 120.

After successful completion of the 8 units for the HNC, you can then complete any of our HND courses in Business by completing the remaining units.

The HNC consists of 8 units.

Business and the Business Environment

  • Provides learners with an understanding of different organisations
  • Understand the influence of stakeholders and the relationship between businesses and the local, national and global environments

Marketing Intelligence

  • Understand the purchase decision-making process
  • Recognise situations that influence buying behaviour
  • Exploration of marketing research process

Managing Human Resources

  • Builds knowledge and understanding developed in Human Resources
  • Understand the application of Human Resource Management

Operations Management

  • Understand the operations function within an organisation
  • Develop knowledge to include elements of product and job design, planning and control

Management Accounting

  • Analyses of cost information, both current and future
  • Budgetary planning and control
  • Preparing forecasts and budgets

Business Law

  • Understand the nature of the legal system
  • Suggest appropriate legal solutions to business problems
  • Recommend alternative legal advice

Financial Accounting

  • Record business transactions using double-entry book-keeping
  • Extract a trial balance
  • Perform bank reconciliations

Managing a Successful Business Project

  • Establish project aims
  • Conduct small-scale research
  • Communicate recommendations
  • Reflect on value of conducting the project

Entry Criteria

Students must:

  • Students must be over 17 years of age
  • School grades 55% +

 

Start Date

  • Every Monday, excluding UK Bank Holidays

Course Duration

  • Approximately 12 months

Course Assessment

  • Completion of an assignment for each unit
  • No examinations

Study Support

  • Students are allocated a UK-based Tutor
  • Tutors are available by telephone and Moodle Messaging (email via the Virtual Learning Environment) to discuss course materials and provide support and assistance with assignments
  • Students Services are available by telephone and email to assist with any issues or concerns during your course

Course Delivery

  • The course is a self-study course. It is delivered via an online Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) called Moodle
  • All course materials are available online

Required Study Time

  • 4 to 6 weeks per unit
  • You will be given a timetable to follow
Fees & Funding

There are several ways you can pay for your fees.

Level 4 HNC Business

£1625 GBP, plus Edexcel Registration Fee £231.48

The course fees cover all study materials, personal tutor support and assessments.

Instalment Option

There is a £100 admin charge if using this option

Deposit and Registration Fee: Deposit £325 plus registration fee

Ten instalments of £140 payable on the 1st of each month after the start of the course

Loan Option

Loans available for UK students (subject to status) – minimum 10% deposit of complete fee then 0% APR over 6, 10 or 12 months.
