Award in Management BTEC Level 3

The Award in Management is an internationally recognised first stage management qualification that is designed to enable supervisors, team leaders, and junior managers to understand and perform their role more thoughtfully and more effectively and prepare them for studying higher level management qualifications.

Progression

As a Level 3 UK accredited National Framework qualification, the Award in Management is an important step towards becoming a qualified professional manager, offering, with appropriate periods of work experience as a manager or specialist, a pathway on to the Level 5 Certificate and Diploma in Management Studies and on to Masters level qualifications.

Entry Requirements

Access is open to all, but ideally the student should:

  • be over 18 years of age
  • have at least one year of work experience as a team leader or supervisor
  • have a good standard of numeracy and literacy and general education
  • hold a Level 2 Team Leader or Business GNVQ qualification or equivalent.

Start Date

Beginning of each month.

Duration

3 to 6 months.

Assessment

1 assignment for each unit.

Tutor Support

Following registration, you will be allocated a UK-based tutor, who will be available by telephone, fax, and email to discuss your coursework and give advice and guidance on assignments.

Study Time

Course Materials: Each unit 30 hours

Assignments: Each unit 5 hours

Background Reading: 30 minutes average per week
