CIPS Graduate Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Level 6
The CIPS Level 6 Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supply is a UK Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply accredited, internationally recognised programme that is designed to enable Senior Managers or Specialist Professionals in procurement, purchasing and supply, and supply chain roles, to enhance their knowledge and understanding and gain a valuable high-level professional qualification. The content is also suitable for Owner Managers and Consultants who wish to gain substantial strategic-level understanding of this essential area of business.
Successful completion of this qualification entitles holders to full membership of the CIPS and to use the initials MCIPS.
In addition, the design of the Level 6 Graduate Diploma means that the course also provides a sound basis for specialist professionals and senior managers who wish to develop further and take higher level qualifications, such as the CIPS Level 7 Executive Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management, or a professional development Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Management Studies.

The Level 6 Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supply is accredited by CIPS, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, the leading Accreditation Body in this field. CIPS accreditation is recognised internationally and its qualifications are accepted by employers, professional associations, and higher education establishments throughout the world.
Entry Requirements
Students must:
- be over 25 years of age
- have at least 5 years of work experience
- be in a Specialist Professional or Senior Management position
Start Date
Every Monday, except UK Bank Holidays.
Duration
12 to 18 months.
Content
The course comprises 3 mandatory modules and 2 Optional modules.
Mandatory Modules:
- L6-01 Leading and Influencing in Purchasing
- L6-02 Strategic Supply Chain Management
- L6-03 Supply Chain Management in Practice
Optional Modules - 2 to be selected from:
- L6-10 Legal Aspects in Purchasing and Supply
- L6-11 Advanced Project Management
- L6-12 Finance for Purchasers
- L6-13 Strategic Public Sector Programme Management
- L6-14 Public Sector Stakeholders and Governance
5 Modules - 3 Mandatory and 2 Optional - must be successfully completed to gain the award.
Assessment Requirements
- Assessment for all 5 Modules is by External Examination
- UK Examinations are held in November, January, March, May, and July
- International Examinations are held in November and May
Tutor Support
Following registration, you will be allocated a UK-based tutor, who will be available by telephone, fax, and email to discuss your coursework and give advice and guidance on assignments.
Study Time
Each Module will require a minimum of 50 hours of core material study, plus a further 30 hours of wider reading and research
