CIPS Foundation Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Level 4
The CIPS Level 4 Foundation Diploma in Purchasing and Supply is a UK Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply accredited, internationally recognised programme that is designed to enable team leaders, supervisors, and managers involved in procurement, purchasing and supply, and supply chain management to perform their role more thoughtfully and more effectively. The purchasing and supply knowledge and understanding covered by the content is also suitable for Owner Managers and Consultants who wish to increase their knowledge in this area.
Successful completion of this qualification entitles holders to Diploma Membership of the CIPS.
In addition, the design of the Level 4 Foundation Diploma means that the course also provides a sound basis for specialist managers who wish to develop further and take higher level qualifications, such as the CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply, or a professional development Level 5 Diploma in Management, Human Resources, Marketing, Project Management, Leadership, or Quality.
Accreditation
The Level 4 Foundation Diploma in Purchasing and Supply is accredited by CIPS, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, the leading Accreditation Body in this field. CIPS accreditation is recognised internationally and its qualifications are accepted by employers, professional associations, and higher education establishments throughout the world.
Entry Requirements
Students must:
- be over 20 years of age
- have at least 2 years of work experience.
Start Date
Every Monday, except UK Bank Holidays.
Duration
12 to 15 months.
Content
The course comprises 5 mandatory modules:
- L4-01 Effective Negotiation in Purchasing and Supply
- L4-02 Developing Contracts in Purchasing and Supply
- L4-03 Measuring Purchasing Performance
- L4-04 Managing Purchasing and Supply Relationships
- L4-05 Purchasing Contexts
All 5 modules must be successfully completed to gain the award.
Assessment Requirements
- Assessment for all 5 Modules is by External Examination
- UK Examinations are held in November, January, March, May, and July
- International Examinations are held in November and May
Tutor Support
Following registration, you will be allocated a UK-based tutor, who will be available by telephone, fax, and email to discuss your coursework and give advice and guidance on assignments.
Study Time
Each Module will require a minimum of 50 hours of core material study, plus a further 30 hours of wider reading and research
