The Level 6 Advanced Professional Diploma in Project Management is a UK accredited and internationally recognised programme that is designed for those who are involved in, or aspiring to, project management at project manager or key specialist level, and who wish to be recognised as an expert in this field.
The programme is also an ideal preparation course for professional managers and specialists seeking to move on to a Masters Level qualification, in Project Management, Quality Management, or Strategic Management.
Accreditation Body
Our Level 6 Advanced Professional Diploma in Project Management is accredited by Edexcel, the leading UK Government National Accreditation Body. Edexcel accreditation is recognised internationally and its qualifications are accepted by employers and higher education establishments throughout the world, and by professional associations such as the PMI and APM.
Entry Requirements
Students must:
- be over 25 years of age
- have at least 2 years of project team experience
- Have at least 3 years of middle to senior management experience
- Possess a recognised Management or Professional qualification
or have experience of project management, and be
- a middle or senior manager with over 5 years of experience, without any formal qualifications
- an Owner Manager wishing to develop and grow their organisation
- a Consultant with corporate clients.

Every Monday, except UK Bank Holidays.

Unit 3: Planning and Scheduling Project Activity

Activity Planning Methods; Resource Analysis and Planning; Network Node Exercise
Unit 4: Winning Teams (focus on Project Teams)
Characteristics of Teams; Methods of Team Development; Monitoring and Evaluating Team Performance
Unit 5: Implementation, Monitoring, and Control of Project Activity
Implementing the Plan;
Communication Tool and Techniques;
Monitoring Activity and Outcome Progress;
Controlling Costs; Change Management
Unit 6: Review and Evaluation of Project Performance
Review and Evaluation of Financial Criteria and
Non-Financial Criteria
Unit 7: Leadership (focus on Leading Projects)
The impact of different leadership attributes and skills on the project;
Current theories, models and principles of leadership;
Developing leadership skills for specific situations
Unit 8: Management Research - Project and Presentation
Research project - Planning the development of a new product, service or process and presenting proposals
All 8 units must be successfully completed to gain the award.

- Professional Development activities maintained throughout the course
Tutor Support
Following registration, students will be allocated a UK-based tutor who will be available by telephone and Moodle Messaging (email via the Virtual Learning Environment) to discuss course work and give advice and guidance on assignments.

Study Time
Unit 1: 40 hours spread over duration of course
Units 2 to 8: 40 - 50 hours per module
Background Reading and Research: 2 hours average per week
