CQI Diploma in Quality Management

This prestigious UK accredited Chartered Quality Insititute CQI Diploma (previously the IQA Quality Diploma) is specially designed to provide students with an internationally recognised qualification in Quality Management. The content raises their knowledge and understanding of the critical role that Quality plays in today's complex organisations, and provides them with a range of operational and strategic tools and techniques.

The Quality Management training covered by the content makes this equally relevant to consultants and owner managers wishing to build a comprehensive knowledge of Quality Management approaches.

Awarding Body

CQI - Chartered Quality Institute, previously the IQA - Institute of Quality Assurance, before Chartered status.

Successful students will become Members of the CQI and use the letters Dip. Q after their name.

Entry Requirements

Students must be over 25 years of age. The Diploma is suitable for:

  • Managers and Professionals who wish to gain a comprehensive knowledge of Quality Management
  • Managers and Professionals who contribute to the development of strategic plans
  • Owner Managers, and Consultants, who wish to increase their knowledge in this area.

Start Date

Every Monday, except UK Bank Holidays.

Duration

6 to 12 months for each module. Examinations are held in January and June each year. We recommend that you allow 2 years as a minimum time to complete the full Diploma.

  • D6 Quality and Environmental Management

Please note: as the CQI will not be offering D7 Information Technology and Quality Management after the June 2009 Examinations, this Module will be no longer available.

Assessment Requirements

  • 5 Core Module Assignments
  • Individual Quality Project
  • 5 CQI External Examinations

Examinations are held in London, in UK regional centres, and in British Council and Embassy offices worldwide.

Tutor Support

Following registration, you will be allocated a UK-based tutor, who will be available by telephone, fax, and email to discuss your coursework and give advice and guidance on assignments and examination revision.

Study Time

Course Materials: Each module 30 hours x 6

Assignments: Each module 8 hours x 6

Workplace Activity: Observations and discussions with colleagues, managers, specialists

Background Reading: 30 minutes average per week

Quality Project: 1 hour average per week

Important Information

Student Registration

On enrolling with us to study the course, our Student Services team will provide you with the CQI Enrolment Form, which you will need to complete and return to us, for us to record and then send on to the CQI.

* enrolment forms can only be obtained from us, your Education Centre - they are not available directly from the CQI

You will then be given 6 months free membership of the CQI, with the option of becoming a permanent member after that.

* Please note: although you must obtain the Enrolment From from us, and return it to us, it is your responsibility to do this in order to register for membership of the CQI, as this must be done personally

CQI Examination Registration

On enrolling with us to study the course, our Student Services team will provide you with an electronic copy of the CQI Module Entry Form (Examination Entry), which you will need to complete and return to us, for us to record and then send on to the CQI.

When you are certain that you wish to sit an examination, you will need to complete a Module Entry Form for each Module (Examination) that you wish to sit, and send this to us, for us to record and then send on to the CQI.

Additional Module Entry Forms can be obtained from your Personal Tutor or our Student Services on request.

* Please note: although you must obtain the Module Entry Form (Examination Entry) from us, and return it to us, it is your responsibility to register for the CQI examinations, as this must be done personally

Payment of Student Registration and Examination Registration Fees

In both cases, you will already have paid the registration fees, as these are included in your Study Fee that you have paid to us. When you apply for Student or Examination registration, nominate us as the address for the CQI to send the invoice to.

Examination Location Costs

Please note that our fees do NOT cover any costs charged by the Examination Centre, in the UK or Overseas. We are not responsible for any costs, fees, charges, which are in addition to the CQI Examination Registration Fee. Examination Location costs must be paid by the student or their organisation.

Late Entry Fees

Please note we cannot be responsible for late entry examination fees. These are your responsibility and must be paid by you.

Late Cancellation Fees

Please note we will not be responsible for Withdrawal/Cancellation charges made by the CQI when a student withdraws from an examination after the deadline for withrawals has passed. These are your responsibility and must be paid by you.
