Advanced Diploma in Project Management ~ Level 6 ~ Online Distance Learning

The Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Project Management is a UK accredited internationally recognised programme that is designed for those who are involved in project management at project manager or key specialist level, and who aspire to be recognised as knowledgeable and expert in this field.

The programme is also an ideal preparation course for professional managers and specialists seeking to move on to a masters level qualification, in project management, quality management, or strategic management.

ASET accreditation is recognised internationally and its qualifications are accepted by employers and higher education establishments throughout the world, and by professional associations such as the PMI and APM.

 

Entry Requirements

  • Be over 25 years of age ~ there is no upper age limit
  • Have at least 3 years of  middle to senior management experience
  • Possess a recognised Management or Professional qualification

or be

  • A middle or senior manager with over 5 years of experience, without any formal qualifications
  • An Owner Manager wishing to develop and grow their organisation
  • A Consultant with corporate clients

* holders of the ASET Level 4 Diploma in Project Management are exempted from Modules 2 to 6 inclusive

The structure of the course is in two parts, with eleven (11) mandatory modules

Module 3: Project Structures

Defining and Categorising Projects; The Life Cycle of the Project;

Overview of Prince Project Methodology; The Lean and Mean Approach

Module 4: Feasibility and Risk

Testing and Feasibility of the Project; Assessing and Managing Risk

Module 5: Managing People

Managing the Project Team Members; Managing Creativity and Conflict;

Internal and External Roles and Responsibilities; Managing Relationships            

Module 6: Managing Closure

Planning and Activating the Closure Point; A Project Closure Template

Part 2     * with part 1, achieves the Advanced Diploma in Project Management

Module 7: Contracts and Procurement

Political Influence and Conflict; Tendering and Bidding Process;

Contract Details and Styles; Procurement Best Practice

Module 8: Planning and Scheduling

Planning Work Activity and Outcomes; Cost Accurately; Project Scheduling Techniques;

Activity Planning Methods; Resource Analysis and Planning; Network Node Exercise

Module 9: Implementation, Monitoring, Control

Tutor Support

Following registration, our students will be allocated a UK based tutor who will be available by telephone, fax and email to discuss the course work and give advice and guidance on assignment.

Study Time

Module 1:                                                             10 hours * plus Personal Journal maintenance

Modules 2 to 10:                                                 35 hours per module

Management Report:                                         50 hours

Personal Journal:                                               1 hour average per week

Background Reading & Research:                 2 hours average per week
