City of Brighton

Situated between the sea and the tranquil Sussex Downs, Brighton is one of the UK's most popular visitor destinations, and our most thriving and cosmopolitan city, with its resident population of just over half a million swollen by 5 million tourists, conference delegates and overseas students every year.

Brighton is now an established centre of excellence for new innovative and creative business, especially in the media and internet sectors.

As home to two major universities and over 100 colleges and schools, is internationally recognised for its traditional and online educational communities, offerring classroom and distance learning studies.

It is the venue for a spectacular mix of events, from the London to Brighton vintage car rally to the largest Arts Festival in England, and is host to a variety of outdoor music festivals over the summer.

Our city has a diverse nightlife, with a myriad of night clubs, famous theatres, cinemas and comedy clubs, as well as established venues for world famous pop and rock acts, and classical orchestras and performers.

There are literally hundreds of places at which to relax and enjoy a meal or a drink, and for shopping there are modern malls, side by side with bohemian lanes and alleyways where you can find unusual clothes, jewellry, art works and antiques.

Brighton is within an hour of the capital city of London, and close to Gatwick and Heathrow airports.
